In case you missed it, each week I will be taking your through some key headlines highlighting women in media from key publications. Here's your wrap up for 5 - 11 April 2021:

1. Christina Holgate breaks her silence powerfully to take on her bullies

Speaking to Parliament, Holgate said:

"I do not want what happened to me to happen to any individual ever again in any workplace”

“I lost my job, a job that I loved, because I was humiliated by our prime minister for committing no offence and then bullied by my chairman who unlawfully stood me down under public direction of the prime minister. This made my leadership at Australia Post untenable and seriously threatened my health."

“I have done no wrong. Their bullying of me was far from over. I was subjected to a biased investigation and intimidated with constant threats of further allegations and criticism.”

2. ScoMo FINALLY accepts all 55 of Kate Jenkins’ recommendations on sexual harassment

Last week, Prime Minister Scott Morrison finally accepted Jenkins' recommendations laid out in her landmark report, Respect@Work, "in full, in part or in principle".

This report resulted from a national inquiry investigating the nature and prevalence of harassment in Australian workplaces, informed by 60 consultations and 460 submissions.

3. AuDA’s Sophie Mitchell tells B&T that initiatives such as their Women Leading Tech awards: “is an active example of promoting and celebrating” greater diversity for the wider technology industry.

The need for change when it comes to gender equality is apparent but what does change look like?
Speaking to B&T Mitchell applauds their Women Leading Tech awards as a positive step towards this, in this particular industry.
